BlackBerry 10, all fun aside, has an impressive feature, to be able to run Android apps. First, however, was the process of Android apps to get up and running anything other than simply on a BlackBerry device 10.
The process requires users to download the Android app (APK), convert it to a compatible file format (BAR) BlackBerry 10 and then from the command line to install or as Brian Bennett walked us through using a chrome extension.
Just this week BlackBerry has released an update, BB10, bring the possibility to install Android apps directly on the device, without conversion or imagination network knowledge required.
Your BB10 work device BlackBerry 10 version 10.2.1 must be running in order for this or above. Some airlines have already released the update, while other plans to publish it at a later date.
Once you have 10.2.1 on your device, are the easiest way to install Android apps in the future by installing the Amazon Appstore. Hat tip to CrackBerry for originally task this tip.
Since the only devices that Amazon app store comes preinstalled on inflamed, the company allows the app to other Android devices also sideload. And with BlackBerry 10 Android apps run, it only makes sense that someone tried this.
To install the Amazon Appstore on your BB10 device, visit http://www.amazon.com/getappstore from your BB10 device. Tap the button to download. At this point, can you asks world to enable the installation of applications beyond the BlackBerry; Just follow the instructions.
Once the app is downloaded, follow the installation instructions. Once the installation is completed, log in to your Amazon account and begin to search the Appstore, as if you were on an Android device.
Keep in mind not all the apps you want to download on BlackBerry 10 perfect work. I was able, apps like Slacker and Facebook Messenger work (even though FB Messenger never me on new messages made aware of), but the app, the 1Password reader doesn't work, because it is based on the dropbox URL scheme.
Their experiences are certainly different.
